Candidates from all parties including Awami League (symbol Boat), Jatiya Party( symbol Plough), National People's Party-PPP( symbol Mango), Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Andolon( symbol Anchor), Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal(Torch or Moshal) and the Independent are in the election spree. The supporters and activists of the respective parties are regularly moving places of their electoral areas with banners, placards and symbols along with the party candidates. Filmstar Mahia Mahi, an Independent candidate contesting with the symbol Truck was seen campaigning with her supporters and activists at her constituency Rajshahi-1(Godagari-Tanore) upazila. While delivering a speech towards the voters at Khetur village under Godagari she assured all to save them from unwanted harassment by police and to ensure undisturbed sleep in their houses. She called upon all to vote for Truck for the development of a lot of the poor, deprived people of the constituency. On Sunday, Mahia Mahi was seen canvassing with her supporters at various places of Matikata and Gogram unions. Another Independent candidate Golam Rabbani, a Member of district AL is contesting with the symbol Scissor. He was seen canvassing with his supporters in various places under the Mohanpur Union of Godagari upazila. In the Rajshahi-2(Rajshahi sadar) constituency, the Workers Party candidate nominated from the 14 Party alliance Fazley Hossain Badsha has been campaigning with the symbol 'Boat'. He said that after the Liberation, all the developments of the people of Rajshahi were achieved due to making the Boat winner. He called upon the people to vote for Boat again to develop Rajshahi further.
Independent candidate from Rajshahi sadar Shafiqur Rahman Badsha was seen campaigning at various places in Rajshahi city for the Scissor symbol. Supporters of Badsha were organising processions and wayside meetings seeking votes for the symbol Scissor.
In the Rajshahi-3 ( Paba-Mohanpur) constituency, AL nominated candidate Asaduzzaman Asad with his supporters started a massive mass contact with the cross section of people at Kesorhat of Mohanpur upazila. On December 23, Asaduzzaman Asad met with the BNM candidate Matiur Rahman Montu and exchanged views with him. Matiur Rahman Montu was the former General Secretary of Rajshahi district BNP. He joined BNM several days ago when he was ousted from the BNP.
In the Rajshahi-4 (Bagmara)constituency Independent candidate Enamul Haque who has been the MP for the last 15-year alleged that his opponent candidate Abdul Kalam Azad(Boat) along with his supporters were attacking his leaders and activists, threatening and tearing up his posters and banners. He was seen campaigning with his followers for his candidacy seeking votes for the Scissor symbol at Chewkhali Bazar of Taherpur of the upazila on Saturday noon.
In Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur), Independent candidate Obaidur Rahman with an Eagle symbol was seen seeking votes from the people on Saturday morning. Braving the cold, cloudy weather, Obaidur Rahman was seen visiting with his followers in various places of the Durgapur Municipal area seeking votes in his favour.In Rajshahi-6( Bagha-Charghat) constituency, Independent candidate, former Member of Parliament, AL leader Rahenul Haque Raihan campaigned with his followers for the symbol 'Scissor'. On Saturday he visited various wards of the Monigram Union of Charghat upazila and sought votes in his favour.
In this constituency State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shariar Alam is a strong candidate contesting with the symbol 'Boat'. On Saturday, Sadman Shahriar, son of Shariar Alam with the supporters of Boat went to various places of Bagha and Charghat upazilas and sought votes for his father. He also participated in various wayside meetings in various unions.
