Police seize 72 Indian smart phones in Rajbari

Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested 72 Indian Redmi Mobile phone sets from a passenger at Daulotdia Bus Terminal at Goalanda Upazila in Rajbari on Sunday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Atiar Rahman Ranju, son of late Abdur Rahman, hailed from Ramonnagar village under Damurhuda upazila of the Chuadanga district. 

Rajbari Police Super Md Mijanur Rahman confirmed the matter through a press conference. 

Mijanur Rahman said passenger of Purbasha Transport Md Atiar Rahman Ranju brought 72 Indian mobile phone sets through smuggling in the capital. At that time, DB police arrested him from Goalando area. Not only Atiar, several criminals were involved in this smuggling, he added. The net worth of the mobile handsets is Tk19, 71,000.   A case has been filed at Goalanda Ghat Police Station in this connection.
