A team of Boalia Metropolitan Police revealed the mystery of alleged mugging of Taka 600,000 within an hour of the incident on Monday (January 11).

According to sources, Nure Habib Duzon (38) son of late Habib Uddin of Bhadra jamalpur village under Chandrima police station filed a written complaint with Boalia Model thana that around 15.10 PM on Monday he drew Taka 600,000 from his personal account of Premier Bank, Alupatty branch and with the money in a bag he was heading towards home on a motorbike. Around 15.15 he reached near DGFI office at Kumarpara, two muggers wearing helmets on a motor-bike pushed his bike and snatched away the bag with the money before heading towards Alupatty.

After receiving the complaint, a regular case was filed at Boalia thana and according to the instruction of RMC Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique, a police team headed by Nibaran Chandra Barman, Officer-in-charge of Boalia police station starts to investigate into the incident.

Police team checked the bank statement of Complainant Nure Habib and watched the video footage of the CC camera of the Premier Bank and found the account contains only Taka 83 and there was no transaction of money in that day. Moreover, the footage of CC came did not show the presence of Nure Habib in the bank that day.

At a stage of enquiry, Nure Habib admitted that his elder brother Raoshan Ali had a DPS with the Premier Bank at Shyamoli Branch in Dhaka from where he drew Taka 600,000 in various times without the knowledge of his brother. As a result, he staged a drama of snatching of Taka 600,000 from his possession. In fact, Nure Habib did not draw any money from the bank but to adjust the money of his elder brother he spent, he staged such drama.
