Police have recovered 18 stolen cows in Kishoreganj. Police recovered the cows from Dampara area in Karshakariyal union of Sadar upazila on Sunday night (30 May). Police arrested 4 people for interrogation including stolen cows.
The arrested were Omar Siddique (20) son of Alal Uddin of Kankati village under Sadar upazila, Liton Mia (38) son of late Shahid Mia, Fazlur Rahman (70) son of late Mohammad Ali and Majlu Mia (62) son of late Masum Ali of village Chiknirchar under Sadar upazila of the district.
According to police sources, Sadar Circle Additional Police Super Ibrahim Hossain conducted the operation at Karshakariyal village on the instructions of Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar). They were arrested along with the stolen cows around 11 pm. The stolen cows were brought from Austagram. The cows were rescued with the help of Kishoreganj Model Police Station. Later Kishoreganj police informed Autagram police station. A case has been filed at Autagram police station in this regard.
Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) told that the cows were stolen from the haor area. More information can be found in the interrogation. It is believed that the cows were stolen ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
