Kotwali police are desperately searching for Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan, one of the accused in the murder of two meritorious students of Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology (Habiprabi) in Dinajpur.

Kanchan, who is the general secretary of Dinajpur Kotwali Awami League, is now in hiding. His house has already been searched, police said.

It is learned that after the arrest of Abu Ibn Rajab, the president of the District Sechasebok League, police have launched raids in various places to arrest Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan, one of the main accused in the case.

Police say he will be arrested and handed over to the court as soon as he is found. The CID is investigating the case of Habiprabi's double murder.

Rajab has already been arrested and sent to jail by the court on the basis of CID's demand.

Besides, one of the accused in the case Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan should also be arrested. We are continuing our operation to arrest him.

It may be mentioned that Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan had been influencing figure in the city for a long time with the support of Iqbalur Rahim, MP of Dinajpur Sadar-3 constituency and Whip of Jatiya Sangsad.

This syndicate had been influencing the city for a long time. In this situation, the people of Dinajpur were looking for a way to get rid of this syndicate.

But could not tell anyone. Various reports were also published in some of the newspapers. But nothing worked. Recently, Prime Minister  Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the Father of the Nation, directed to bring all criminals of the country under the law.

After that, MP Iqbalur Rahim tactfully started keeping Kanchan-Rajab away for few days. In the end, Rajab, the accused in the murder, was also arrested.

But Biswajit Ghosh Kanchan was still out of reach. Political analysts believe that the people of Dinajpur have got relief from Rajab's arrest and will get full relief after Kanchan’s arrest.
