Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) arrested five persons from the city on charges of their involvement in cheating people in the name of giving jobs on Friday night.
According to police sources, the arrested persons were identified as Moshiue Jaman, 30, Redwan Islam, 21, Anwar Hossain, 25, Rabbi Hassan, 28, and Arafat Hossain alias Shubho, 22. On a tip-off, a team of the police conducted separate raids at Upashahar and Terakhadia areas and arrested them. Police also seized four laptops, one desktop, one printer, 16 fake appointment letters, 24 stamps, 20 voter ID cards, nine mobile phone sets and one motorbike from their possession.

Nibaran Chandra Barman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Model Police Station, told journalists that the detained persons in accomplice with each other were involved in cheating innocent people in the name of giving jobs to different posts of Northern Electricity and Supply Company (NESCO) for a longtime. A case has been lodged with the concerned police station in this connection.
