Dhaka Metropolitan Police in its anti-drugs drives arrested 64 persons in connection with taking and selling drugs in the capital Dhaka in the last 24 hours, said DMP press release on Monday.
As part of the anti-narcotic drives, DMP conducted raids in different areas under various police stations.
Police also detained 81 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6 am Sunday to 6 am Monday (yesterday).
During the anti-drug operation, police recovered 166 grams of heroin, 2.7 kilograms of cannabis, 2,421 pieces of yaba tablets, 395 bottle of phensidyle and eight injections from them. Police lodged 51 cases against the arrestees with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
