Police men were deployed in Jhenaidah when the weeklong lockdown was started on Monday like other parts of he country. All the business establishments except medicine stores, hotel restaurants were remain open for a specific time. All types of public transports like bus, minibus were put off from the routs.
The policemen in the district town have been patrolling since the morning to make the people bound to obey law and health guidelines. They have set up check posts at Jhenaidah post office intersection, Arappur bus stand, central bus terminal, Hamdah and some other points.
Superintendent of police (SP) Muntasirul Islam said additional SP in Jhenidah Sadar circle Abul Bashar, detective branch (DB) officer in charge (OC) Anwar Hossain and Jhenaidah Sadar police station OC Mijanur Rahman have conducted drives against the law violators. They have been advising the people not to move outside house unnecessarily.
The police men in other upazilas of the district have been moving to maintain law and order and follow health guidelines as directed by the government, SP aid.
