The body of a police constable was recovered from a pond at Police Lines area in Habiganj twon on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahinur Miah, 22, hailed from Mymensingh. Police recovered the body of their colleague.
Mohammad Ullah, police super of Habiganj, confirmed the matter, He said that locals spotted the body of the constable and informed police.
He went missing on Tuesday morning. Later, his sandal, blanket, lungi and bed sheet found from the pond side area. After that, his body recovered from pond by dropping the net. He died because of not knowing how to swim.
The body was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he added. He also said, his family will get financial help from district police fund.
