Police active to maintain law, order during Puja

Chuadanga District Police has made a plan to maintain law and order during the upcoming Durga Puja with Ansar-VDP members, volunteers and high rank police officers. 

According to sources, the security system will be set up in three tiers. Police and Ansar-VDP members will be in the first tier, volunteers will be in the second tier and high rank officers and bit officers will be in the third tier. The first and second tiers will stay at the Puja Mandaps day and night. 

On the other hand high rank officers of District Police will be monitoring the Mandaps remotely. Several mobile teams will move around the areas as well. If any untoward situation arises, they will arrive there for taking control. 

Jahidul Islam, Chuadanga Superintendent of Police said, 634 members of police and 747 members of Ansar-VDP will be appointed primarily at 117 Puja Mandaps in five police station areas of Chuadanga district for maintaining law and order. 

The Puja Mandaps are divided into three categories like most important, important and general. Over 21 Mandaps have been listed as most important, 36 as important and 60 Mandaps have been listed as general Puja Mandaps. 

It may be mentioned here that 24 Puja Mandaps have been erected in Chuadanga Police Station area, 14 in Damurhuda, 18 in Darshana, 38 in Alamdanga and 23 Mandaps have been created to celebrate the Puja in Jibannagar Police Station area. 

Kishor Kumar Kundu, Member Secretary of Chuadanga Puja Udzapan Parishad, said CCTV will be set up at every Puja Mandaps in the district at the initiative of the concerned Puja Udjapan Committee.Dr Martin Hirok Chowdhuri, President of Chuadanga Hindu-Boddha-Christan Oikya Parishad, said we are pleased with the police department and district administration for taking the initiative to implement different steps for ensuring peaceful atmosphere during the upcoming Durga Puja.
