PM working on infrastructural dev to make Ctg an economic hub

MA Latif says at CCCI Members Day event

The CCCI Members Day-2023 organized by the members of The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in grand style on Saturday evening at the World Trade Centre.

Former CCCI President MA Latif, MP, Chamber President Mahbubul Alam, Senior Vice President Tarfdar Md Ruhul Amin, Vice President Syed Mohammad Tanveer, Chittagong Port Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy and Chamber Director and CCCI Member's Day Coordinator Md. Aheed Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan) spoke at the inaugural session of the event.

MA Latif MP said that the Prime Minister has invested 10 billion dollars for infrastructure development with the aim of making Chittagong an economic hub.  5 economic zones are being developed in this region.  Besides, Matarbari deep sea port is being constructed.  Business needs to be modernized through digitization and automation.  CITF more trade fairs and exhibitions should be organized regularly so that small, medium and large traders of all sectors get the opportunity to promote and expand their business.

Chamber President Mahbubul Alam said that Chittagong Chamber has built the only World Trade Center in Chittagong with the help of its members.  Besides, the chamber is always trying to resolve the demands of the businessmen by discussing with the government.

Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan said that the present success of Chittagong Port is shared by the stakeholders.  Chittagong Chamber plays the most significant role as a stakeholder.CMP Police Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy said that the administration has a friendly relationship with the traders which will continue in the future.

Chamber Senior Vice President Tarfdar Md Ruhul Amin said, We are honoured to organize this CCCI Members Day for the esteemed members of this centenary Chittagong Chamber.  If the Matarbari deep sea port is built, new business opportunities will be created in the logistics sector of the country for which everyone should be ready.

Syed Mohammad Tanveer, Vice President of the Chamber, said that one of the reasons for the strong role played in the economic development of the country is our business-rich and dedicated honorable members.  

The development of Chittagong as an attractive place for trade and investment on the global economic map is the achievement of all our businessmen and honorable members of the Chamber.

Chamber Director and CCCI Member's Day Coordinator Md. Ahid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan) said, I congratulate and thank everyone for being present in this happy moment despite being busy.  After 2018 we could not hold this event due to prolonged corona pandemic.  However, I hope to organize member's day regularly in the future.

A raffle draw was held at the end of the interesting cultural program.  A total of 40 attractive prizes including laptops, smart TVs, fridges, washing machines, microwave ovens, tabs, blenders, dinner sets and smart mobile phones were given away courtesy of M Alam Group, Saif Powertec Limited, Pacific Jeans Limited, KSRM Group, Elite Paint, CPDL, Silver Syndicate, Nahar Agro, RSB Industrial Limited, Golden Containers Limited, Electro Tab, Gogreen Paper Cup Industry, HATIL,  Powerbangla Corporation, Faisal Traders, Mazda (Punjabi & Sherwani), Maf Shoes Ltd., Portland Autos, Benchmark Group, Sonar Cotton Mills (BD) Limited, Asian Group, Reliance Assets and Develop­ments (BD) Limited, Chow­dhury Trade International and JN Shipping Lines.
