PM’s hand sought to stop ‘recruitment trade’ in Jiban Bima

Speakers from a human chain called upon the government to take effective steps to stop the recruitment trade in the country. They sought Prime Minister’s intervention over action against Zahirul Haque, Managing Director (MD) of Bangladesh Jiban Bima Corporation, and others, arresting the culprits and canceling the examination and preparing a new question paper.

The human chain was formed in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Sunday (September 5) under the banner of ‘Socheton Nagorik Sojam’. The programme was arranged demanding punishment of Zahirul Haque  and others for leaking question papers and recruitment test and the embezzlement of over Tk 40 crore.

Executive member of the organisation Saiful Islam Shuvo presided over the human chain, while Secretary General of Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh) M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, Chairman of Bangladesh Labour Party Hamdullah Al Mehedi, Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Party Mohiuddin Ahmed, Chairman of Jatiya Swadhinata Party Mizanur Rahman Mizu, Chairman of National Human Rights Association Md Manzur Hossain Isa, Syed Moinuzzaman Litu, Rafiqul Islam, Habibur Rahman, Aktaruzzaman Suruj, Rima Sarkar, Billal Hossain, Ujjal Kumar Roy, Moniruzzaman Akon and others spoke at the human chain. The speakers said that the Finance Ministry was forced to postpone the recruitment test in November, 2020 following the letter of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the wake of massive corruption in the recruitment of employees in the Jiban Bima Corporation, Now there are allegation of more horrific corruption over the recruitment test.
