PM’s grants distributed among Imams, Muazzins

Imams and muezzins of 747 mosques in Magura Sadar upazila were given cash money as gifts from Prime Minister’s grant at Magura Sheikh Kamal Indoor Stadium on Saturday noon. 

Magura Sadar Upazila Parishad and the District Islamic Foundation organized the distribution of this financial grant given by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the mosques of the country amid corona virus crisis.

Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhar, MP from  Magura-1 constituency distributed the gifts as the chief guest. District Council Chairman Pankaj Kundu, District Islamic Foundation Deputy Director Akramul Haque, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Sufian and others spoke on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Ashraful Alam presided over it.

Saifuzzaman Shikhar  called upon all to remain in peaceful coexistence while maintaining social distance as well as raising awareness on the current Corona situation.

It was informed at the function that a total of 37 lakh 35 thousand cash has been distributed among the imams and muezzins of 747 mosques of Magura Sadar upazila. Each mosque in Sadar upazila, was given Tk. 5,000 in cash.
