PM’s Energy Advisor joins scholarship prog in Faridpur

Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Prime Minister’s Energy Advisor, visited the birthplace of Poet Jasimuddin, popularly known as Palli Kabi, at his grave and Jasimuddin Museum in Faridpur on Monday.  

The advisor, who is also a son-in-law of Palli Kabi, also attended as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of annual competition and scholarship distribution ceremony of Ansaruddin High School, which was established and named in honour of the poet’s father.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Faridpur sadar Md Masum Reza presided over the function, while it was attended, among others, by former MP and founder of Aman Moudud Foundation, Hasna Jasimuddin Moudud; Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarker; Police Super Alimuzzaman and Headmaster of Ansaruddin High School Md Abu Jafor. 

The Aman Moudud Foundation distributed a total of Tk 92,000 as scholarship among 104 meritorious students. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury handed over the scholarships. 

After the programme, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury along with others visited the grave of Palli Kabi Jasimuddin and offered Fateha there. At the time, elder daughter of the poet and wife of the PM’s advisor Asma Tawfiq was also present
