Barrister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury, Deputy Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Chattogram-9 constituency was present as the chief guest at the distribution of relief items among 700 unemployed people on behalf of Chattogram Metropolitan Awami League Acting Member and Pathantuli Ward Councilor Mohammad Jabed at Din Mohammad Convention Hall in Pathantuli of the port city on Wednesday.

The deputy Minister at the time said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government has announced an incentive of Tk 3,200 crore to provide assistance to low-income people affected by the lockdown.  This assistance will be provided in five sectors in total.  Most of the money will be given to create employment opportunities in the village. Tk 1500 crore will be disbursed as loan through various specialized banks of the government.

He added, the government will provide a loan of Tk 1,000 crore to pay salaries and allowances to employees of various hotels, motels and theme parks in the tourism sector.  The third highest allocation has been given to day laborers, transport workers, small traders and shipping workers.  There are more than 17 lakh people in these sectors.  Each of them will be given 2500 rupees.  The government has allocated Tk 150 crore to help low-income people in urban areas.  Rice and flour will be distributed across the country for 14 days from July 25 to August 7.

The government of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has allocated Tk 100 crore to the deputy commissioners to provide food aid to those who call 333 and ask for food aid.

The Deputy Minister said, “Our leader Prime Minister, has collected over one crore vaccines by contacting different countries of the world to vaccinate people.  Because he knows that if the housekeeper dies, the family becomes unemployed for life.  Whoever goes out to work, if he dies as a corona, there is no escape.  For this he is arranging a vaccine.  The corona vaccine crisis has been overcome by the successful diplomatic efforts of Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina”.

“We hope that within the next one year we will be able to vaccinate most of the people in the country.  From today, the lockdown has been relaxed in view of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.  If you do not follow the rules of hygiene because the lockdown has been relaxed, then we will not be able to deal with Corona in a single effort of the Hon'ble Prime Minister.

Corona cannot be controlled in any way if we are not aware of it and do not follow proper health rules.  I urge everyone to take the vaccine and follow proper hygiene rules to get rid of the corona virus outbreak”, he again said.

Chattogram Metropolitan Awami League Information and Research Secretary Chandan Dhar, Bangladesh Awami League Science and Technology Sub-Committee Member Arshedul Alam Bachu, Nagar Awami League Member Alhaj Dost Mohammad and Ward Awami League leaders were present as guests on the occasion.
