PM orders increase in vaccine in Ctg: Nowfel

Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said the Prime Minister has directed to increase the amount of vaccines in Chattogram.

 He said a significant number of people in Chattogram live outside the country.  Therefore, the Prime Minister has directed to increase the amount of vaccine especially in Chattogram.

 He said this after inaugurating the 8-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Chattogram General Hospital on Sunday.

 He said necessary steps are being taken to transform the General Hospital into a medical college.  Infrastructure is not just a hospital, the main thing is medical services.  The government is working to develop the hospital.  Efforts are being made to turn the General Hospital into a medical college hospital.  I hope I can do that.

 HDU was set up at the initiative of Chattogram Field Hospital and with the financial support of BSRM.

 At this time all the medical equipment’s and accessories of Chattogram Field Hospital will be provided to Chattogram General Hospital in phases, said Dr Bidyut Barua, Chief Entrepreneur and Executive of Chattogram Field Hospital.

 "Everything bought with the common man's money is being provided for the common man," he said. 

 8 medical beds of Chattogram Field Hospital, 6 high flow nasal cannulas, cardiac monitors and other medical equipment’s were provided to Chattogram General Hospital.

 Dr Abdur Rob Masum, Senior Consultant, Department of Medicine, Chattogram General Hospital and Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, Civil Surgeon presided over the function.  BSRM Deputy Managing Director Tapan Sengupta, Senior Consultant and Covid Focal Point Dr. Abdur Rob spoke on the occasion.
