Planning Minister MA Mannan said, “We are the people of Haor area. Our real friend is Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She has been instructing me to work for the development of the haor and its people. I have been working to implement those instructions. I want to work more for the poor people of Haor areas to implement the instructions of the Prime Minister.”
He made the statement while addressing the inaugural function of Sunamganj Technical Training Center on Sunday.
The Planning Minister said, “The Prophet (PBUH) of our religion showed respect to all. He has shown respect to the people of different religions. This is the lesson of our religion. We have to be careful of those who want to create unrest in the country by bomb attacks and other subversive activities. Everyone must be united and work for the development of the country. We want an educated nation. We should live with honour and dignity.”
The function was presided over by Ahmed Munirush Salehin, Secretary at the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and moderated by District Cultural Officer Ahmed Manjurul Islam Chowdhury.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad spoke as the special guest at the event.
He said, “The government has plans to set up technical training centers in all upazilas (12 upazilas) of Sunamganj. The construction work of setting up technical training centers in four upazilas has almost completed. The journey gets more acceleration with the inauguration of the training center in the district Sadar upazila.”
Sunamganj-1 constituency MP Moazzem Hossain Ratan, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Shahidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Md Jahangir Hossain, Sunamganj Municipality Mayor Nader Bakht and Tahirpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Karuna Sindhu Chowdhury Babul, others also spoke in the programme.
