While addressing a discussion organised by Awami League at its 23 Bangabandhu Avenue central office marking the 18th anniversary of the gruesome August 21, 2004 grenade attack, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday cautioned the countrymen about repetition of August 15, 1975-like carnage.
The premier reiterated that the August 21, 2004 grenade attack was launched under BNP government’s direct patronage.
The August 15, 1975 attack was carried out when the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu embarked on nation building. Now, Bangladesh has become a developing nation and is heading towards becoming a developed one. It is very clear that those who do not like this, they would not sit idle.
An organised evil force comprising extreme communal groups incited by BNP-Jamaat has now become out to grab the state power through clandestine alleyways.

As part of the plot, some international forces which had acted against Bangladesh’s Liberation War have also been providing all-out support for the evil forces alongside extending all possible cooperation to make the country a dysfunctional and failed one through creating anarchy.
These elements are also taking assistance from abroad to implement their evil design. This organised evil force continues plotting conspiracy, making falsehood and criticise the government instead of standing beside the people during this crisis. The nation must remain cautious about them.
Bangladesh is always safe in the hands of Sheikh Hasina. Country’s peace loving people do not want to see the repetition of killings, corruptions, falsehood, conspiracy, and arson terrorism. We believe if our country goes to someone else’s hands, the incidents of killings, corruptions, falsehood, conspiracy, and arson terrorism will surface again, deviating from the right track.
These evil forces several times turned the country into a hell through killings pro-liberation forces, launching arson attack on innocent people. It has been noticed that these vested quarters never want to represent the hopes and aspirations of the people rather they always do politics of conspiracy.
Therefore, imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation, we must always be ready to foil any evil force’s plot as our country now stands with dignity, keeping its head high on the world stage with the ideology of the father of the nation.
