A daylong Pitha Utsab (rice cake festival) was held at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on Monday amid festivity and enthusiasm.
The Faculty of Food Science and Technology of the University organised the festival.
In the morning, a colourful procession was organised on campus with the participation of teachers and students. After the procession, Chairman of the Well Group and former CDA Chairman Abdus Salam, Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Gautam Buddha Das attended the inaugural ceremony at the university's administrative building.
All departments Deans and students thronged the festival, which featured diverse traditional pithas like Puli, Bhapa, Chitai, Pakan, Pati Shapta, Dudh Chitai, Dhupi, Beni, Komola Shundari, Nakshi and others.
