‘Pitha Utsab’ held

A daylong ‘Pitha Utsab’ (cake festival) was held on the premises of Kartoa Multimedia School and College in Bogura on Saturday. Mohsina Hasnat, wife of the Chairman of Kartoa Multimedia School and College Mozammel Haque, inaugurated the festival.

About 100 types of delicious cakes including locally made traditional cakes were displayed. Among them Golap Pitha, Pati Sapta, Pakon, Dudh Sagor are mentionable.

After the end of the fair, a cultural programme including a painting competition was held. At that time, Mozammel Haque, the chairman of the College, his eldest daughter Nasrin Haydar, yonger daughter Taslima Haque, Principal of the College Shamsul Alam, teachers and students were present there.

About seventeen stall were found in the fair. Students including the local people gathered in the occasion and bought the pithas.

Among the stalls, the teachers of the college set up a stall named 'Bibagi Pitha Samver'. This stall displayed locally made traditional pithas like Marry Trifal Pastry, Modhu  Nakshi, Bibi Mona, Sal Pitha, Golap Pitha and many others.


 The pithas made by the Date juice fascinated the customers most.

A visitor named Hasanuzzaman said that every year he visits the fair arranged by Kortoa Multimedia School and College. The price of the pithas was also reasonable like the previous year, he said.
