Pitha festival ends in Thakurgaon

Abhaman Bengal Centenary Pitha Festival has been started in Thakurgaon. Thakurgaon Shilpakala Academy organised this pitha festival on Wednesday.

Bahari Pithapuli is one of the thousands of years of tradition of rural Bengal and is a special part of Bengali culture. On the eve of the bone-chilling winter of Magh, the organizers have brought out the various delicious pithas that have been lost in the stream of time to the young generation and made them known to everyone.

Pithapuli is closely related to the Bengali nation. Due to various reasons including modernization, the present generation is unfamiliar with many pithapulis today. There are many pithapulis which are totally disappearing from our society. Many people are happy to get acquainted with known and unknown pithas in this huge collection of pithas in this festival.

In the stalls arranged around, there were various kinds of bahari pitha and colorful pitha, including Nakshi pitha, paukan pitha, chitai pitha, ras pitha, vapa pitha, pati sapta, pata pitha, dolls, etc.

However, in addition to other women entrepreneurs, the women of the National Adivasi Parishad also participated in the pitha festival with their made pithas.

Many people who came to pitha festival said that we have eaten several pithas from these pithas before. I saw the rest of the pithas for the first time today. They feel very good to eat. Can't remember the name of the cake. So we actually got to know their pies. In this, they have been able to taste various pithas rich in Bengali tradition.

People of all ages come from different areas to eat delicious and delicious pitha in this traditional pitha festival of rural Bengal. They thanked such a person by eating all kinds of pies known and unknown.

Later in the evening there was also a musical and cultural program.

In this regard, Zakir Hossain, Cultural Officer of the District Arts Academy, said that under the leadership of the District Commissioner, the Shilpakala Academy has organized a pithamela in Thakurgaon. Many of the participants here are women entrepreneurs. But this time the tribals have participated in this pitha festival.

Last few years we organized this festival locally and this time it is being held nationwide. Hope this culture friendly government of ours is patronizing our art culture, hope we can organize this pitha festival on a bigger scale in future.

About 35 small entrepreneurs participated in it. The festival started on Wednesday afternoon and will continue till Friday.
