Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, said that he would love to bring back actor Johnny Depp in the franchise, but the decision is not entirely his to make.

Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer is opening up about the possibility of bringing Johnny Depp back in the beloved franchise. After his recent comments on whether the actor would be considered to return to the franchise ended with him saying that the team is still working on it, the producer has now made an interesting addition to his comments.

Earlier it was also announced that Margot Robbie would be associated with Disney in creating a female character in the Pirates universe. But the actor recently clarified that the project has been scrapped by Disney.

The producer seemed unfazed to discuss about the possibility of bringing back Johnny Depp, when he said, "You’d have to ask them. I can’t answer that question. I really don’t know. I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor, and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.” Jerry also responded as part of the profile created by The Hollywood Reporter how there is no truth in the claims that the character of Jack Sparrow would be killed off. He said that the plan was tried before and it didn't work.

Meanwhile Johnny Depp was all set to reprise his role for the sixth film in the Pirates franchise but it was around that time when his defamation lawsuit versus former spouse Amber Heard owed to further media speculations. Then it was revealed that Disney had cancelled the project in the wake up to the abuse allegations made by Amber Heard. On June 1, the jury came to the decision finding Amber Heard guilty of defamation, having to pay Johnny Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. During the trail, Johnny Depp had expressed his desire to return back to the franchise as Jack Sparrow, adding that the character deserved a proper farewell. Jerry also said that the Margot Robbie film is not entirely off the hook, and the team is definitely looking into it to build the story.
