Pilkhana massacre case accused dies in jail

An accused in Pilkhana massacre case died on Saturday morning after fell sick.

The deceased was identified as said Guljar Hossain, 60. He is facing case filed under the explosive act. 

Keraniganj Central Jail senior super Subhash Kumar Ghosh confirmed it.

He said Guljar fell ill severely at the prison early hours and became unconscious.

Later he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). But the on-duty doctors declared him dead at about 7am.

The deceased was suffering from cardiac problem for a long time.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue.

On February 25, 2009, several hundred then BDR men took part in the massacre at the Darbar Hall of the force's Pilkhana headquarters in the capital Dhaka. They killed 74 people, including 57 army officers.
