Phensidyl seized from train, two arrested

Members of railway police seized 48 bottles of phensidyl from the inter-city train 'Lalmoni Express' on Thursday morning. Two people have been arrested at that time.

The arrested were Sahidar Rahman, 45, hailed from Gobdha village under Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat, and Rahidul Islam, from the same village.

Lalmonirhat Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Ali said on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in a compartment of the train in the morning. At that time, 48 bottles of phensidyl were seized after searching the bodies of two drug dealers.

A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act and the arrested persons have been handed over to the court, the OC added.
