People working in Dhaka and Narayanganj have started fleeing and returning home in different parts of the country as corona virus infection has increased in these two cities.
Many people fear that the Chiribandar upazila of Dinajpur could be at risk as many people have reportedly returned home in different areas of Chiribandar upazila in the past two days.
Chiribandar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ayesha Siddika ensured home quarantine for 11 people in Nashratpur, Abdulpur and Basudevpur areas of the upazila who returned from Dhaka and Narayang two or three days ago.
The UNO has also requested local residents to give information about people coming to Chiribandar Upazila from different parts of the country including Dhaka Narayanganj to the UP Chairman, Members. Still, people are panicking.
According to the findings, thousands of people from the district are working in various professions including garment factories in Dhaka-Nanayongonj. But, these people are returning to their home secretly being terrified of the corona spread there.
Locals said people returning from other districts are roaming freely in the area. They are not listening to others even if they are told to stay in their homes. Locals are seeking administration's intervention in this regard.
‘We are Village Doctors Bangladesh’ Chairman SN Akash said, "People are coming from corona infected areas. If they are not controlled, the situation can be dangerous.
People are already entering Chiribandar from the corona infection zone including Dhaka-Naryanganj, said Ayesha Siddika, UNO of Chiribandar Upazila. “We are collecting information about them.
I askd everyone to be careful. Not only Chiribandar all the 13 upazilas of Dinajpur are at risk of the corona virus infection”, she added.
