The people of Pabna's Bera Upazila continue to ignore the lockdown, imposed due to corona virus spread and crowds the streets, hats, bazaars and street corners continuously. Although the government has taken various measures to prevent everyone from spreading the corona virus and to keep distance from each other, on Wednesday alarming number of people were seen outside.

People are spending time in hats and bazaars and in the streets. Rickshaw-van, Nasimon, Karimon  and CNG run Auto Rickshaw are operating in the roads.  Locally, bricks, sand and other freight cars and local trucks are transporting goods. From the upazila headquarters to the unions, there is more mobilization of people.

Government directives on preventing corona virus seems to have no effect on them. When asked them about why they are roaming outside home they said, corona virus van not survive in the hot weather of Bangladesh. On the other hand they asked this correspondent whether anyone infected with corona virus has been found in the upazila.

They said no one else has died and no one has been infected recently. There is no patient with corona virus in the area, so they have no chance of getting corona virus. They said, they had been in the house maintaining distance for about 10 days.

They also expressed their opinion that if everyone comes out of the house, there will be employment for poor people locally. Day laborers who earn their meals everyday will be able to get food.

Alauddin, a rickshaw puller of the upazila said, "We can get the food for our family members by running van-rickshaws on the streets instead of remaining inside home fearing corona virus”.
