Peace medal hands over among BAF staffs

Peacetime medal awarding ceremony was held at Air Headquarters on  Sunday in recognition of gallant and courageous acts during peacetime among officers, airmen and MODC (Air). 

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan distributed the medals to the recipients as the chief guest, said ISPR.

As per the policy issued by the Ministry of Defense in 2013 in recognition of gallantry and bravery acts in the Armed Forces, there is a provision for awarding maximum of 40 peacetime medals to serving officers, airmen and MODC(Air) of BAF each year. A total of 38 peacetime medals have been awarded to BAF members in this occasion.

After handing over the medals, the Chief of Air Staff delivered a directive speech to all. In his address, he said that, peacetime medal was introduced in 2013, in recognition of various gallant and courageous acts to increase the morale and encourage them to do commendable work of the members of Armed Forces. He also congratulated the medal recipients and hoped that the award would be recognition of their special role which would be inspiration for others.

Principal Staff Officers of BAF, Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu, BAF Base Bashar and Air Headquarters (Unit), Directors of Air Headquarters, senior officers, Airmen and civilian were present on the occasion.
