Bangladesh team's Asia Cup campaign will begin with a match against Afghanistan on Tuesday. But it was these Afghans who blew away Sri Lanka in the first match of the season.

On the other hand, despite losing by 8 wickets to Rashid-Nabi, Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka claims that Bangladesh team is a relatively easy opponent.

However, BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon believes that Bangladesh will win all the matches. There Papon told reporters, 'We are not afraid of anyone. We want to win from the first match. So that we are in a good position. And every one of our players is hopeful and confident. We will win all the matches. Sri Lanka is also a good team. Every team is good. Every match is important for us. Since the first match is against Afghanistan, we are focusing on that. If we win it, in sha Allah we will win against Sri Lanka too. '

The BCB president also understood that victory against Afghanistan is not so easy. Yesterday, chasing Sri Lanka's 105 runs, the Afghans won with 59 balls in hand! BCB president is now staying in UAE with the national team. He thinks that Bangladesh's performance in T20 since corona pandemic is disappointing. He urged to come out of there, 'We were not a bad team until corona. We played in the Asia Cup final, lost to India in the last over. After corona and in the last World Cup we did pretty bad. Now is the chance to get out of it. '

Bangladesh Cricket Board recently handed over the rein of the T20s set-up to Sriram following a string of losses in the format after deciding head coach Russell Domingo will be in-charge of ODIs and Tests.

Sridharan Sriram, during his first media interaction since taking over the reign, insisted that he is clear about his role and it will be more on collaborating and putting up the right strategy rather than leading the side.

Bangladesh will begin their tournament campaign against Afghanistan on August 30 in Sharjah before they face Sri Lanka in the last group match on September 1 in Dubai.
