The long-cherished Padma Bridge will be opened to traffic next month, thanks to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for showcasing Bangladesh’s capacity to implement such a mega project without any foreign loan.

Reportedly, ninety-six percent work of the main bridge has been competed so far while 90.50 percent of the overall work of the project has been finished. Therefore, the Padma Bridge has now become a reality brushing aside all sorts of conspiracies and suspicions. Millions of people, especially those in the southwestern region of the country are waiting for the long-cherished Padma Multipurpose Bridge to open for traffic movement in June. It is a matter of only one month waiting period that will get over once and the dream of millions of people will become true if everything goes fine.

It is the largest construction infrastructure since the independence of Bangladesh and the construction work began in December, 2015 with government’s own fund. We hope people will have no difficulties in crossing the river Padma and they will be able to travel their respective destinations quickly and safely when the bridge will be opened for traffic movement.

Padma Bridge will change the entire

 economic landscape of southwestern Bangladesh

Besides, this Bridge will change the entire economic landscape of southwestern Bangladesh. Apart from these, it will also boost the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) by 1.5-2 percent. It has become possible due to the visionary and dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina despite various conspiracies hatched at home and abroad against the construction of this mega bridge.

Along with Bangladeshis, Chinese, American, British, Indian and Japanese nationals are working round the clock to open the bridge to the commuters with assuring quality. We believe the southwestern region will become the country’s biggest economic zone after opening of the Padma Bridge.

Braving all sorts of hurdles and odds, the government continued to pull the country towards development following the ideology and footsteps of Bangabandhu. The construction of the Padma Bridge project was the most challenging in country’s history. The quarters who hatched a conspiracy over the construction of the Padma Bridge now awaited a befitting reply as the landmark structure is set to be opened for traffic. We hope the country’s economy will start witnessing a strong growth in all sectors while sufferings of the people of 21 districts in the southern region during travelling will be reduced.
