Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said that those who lie and plot against the Padma Bridge need to be brought under the law.

The minister made the remarks while addressing a roundtable discussion titled 'Padma Bridge: Progress on the Path of Harmony' organized by Sampriti Bangladesh at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Wednesday.

At the time, he said, the victory of our capacity challenge is the Padma Bridge. Overcoming many adversities, Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina has built the world's wonder Padma Bridge. We can if he wants to show. The Padma Bridge is a triumph of Sheikh Hasina's honesty, self-confidence and courage. Those who wanted to obstruct the development of Bangladesh in an illegal way, the Padma Bridge slapped them in the face. This bridge will bear the signature of Bangladesh's own creation and capability for eternity.

He further said that those who directly and indirectly obstructed the construction of Padma bridge or those who provided false information are criminals.

There is no alternative but to judge them. The culprit can never be saved. If they are released, many will think that nothing will happen in the future if anything happens in this country. Those who still lie about the Padma Bridge need to be brought under the law.

Rezaul Karim added, "There is no way to deny Sheikh Hasina wherever Bangladesh's vision is. Metrorail, tunnel under Karnafuli river, eight lane road, poverty alleviation, country's highest exports, highest foreign exchange reserves, success in tackling Corona Sheikh Hasina has been found everywhere in the list of top countries in the world since Bangabandhu was called the voice of the oppressed, and in recent times Sheikh Hasina has been called the voice of the victims.

The minister added that there are still generations of anti-independence activists in the country. They are detrimental to our new generation, detrimental to the development of the country. So far, they have not shown the generosity to congratulate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the construction of the Padma Bridge. Their nature has to be revealed.

Mentioning that the development of the country will be due to the Padma Bridge, the Minister said, the state will benefit because of the Padma Bridge. There will be development of economy, there will be development of humanity. The tragic chapter of the people of the southern part of the country will come to an end. The people of this region will be connected with the capital Dhaka. Their long deprivation will come to an end. The link that has been created through the Padma Bridge has created an extraordinary connection not only in the economy but also in our politics, sociality and spirituality. Sheikh Hasina has shown that if there is honesty, there is patriotism, there is confidence and there is determination to reach the goal, then everything is possible.

Sampriti Bangladesh convener Piyush Banerjee presided over and Member Secretary Prof. State Minister for Culture KM Khalid and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury addressed the function as special guests. Former Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Prof. Kamrul Hasan Khan, Security and Political Analyst Major General Mohammad Ali Sikder (Retd.), Chandpur University of Science and Technology, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nasim Akhter, political analyst Subhash Singh Roy, Dhaka University professor Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and others participated in the discussion.
