Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi, Member of Parliament for Satkhira Sadar 2 constituency, officially inaugurated the Boro Paddy and Rice Collection by cutting the ribbon as the chief guest at the Sadar Food Warehouse premises on Monday under the chairmanship of Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Fatema-Tuj-Johra.
District Workers League President Chaiful Karim Sabu, District Food Controller Priyo Kamal Chakma, Sadar Upazila Food Controller Md. Were present at the opening ceremony as special guests. Zakir Hossain, Sadar Upazila Food Warehouse Incharge ASM Manzurul Alam, District Youth League Senior Member Youth Leader Mir Mahitul Alam Mohi, District Reich Mill Owners Association General Secretary Abdul Gaffar, Vice President Abdul Khaleq, Sadar Upazila Reich Mill Owners Association General Secretary Moshiur Rahman Babu and others.
According to office sources, the target for procurement of internal boro rice in Satkhira Sadar Upazila has been set at 7,262 MT this year. The target has been set at 15,817 MT in the district.
Satkhira Sadar Upazila has set a target of 3,011 MT for internal boro paddy procurement and 10,005 MT for the district.
This year, the government purchase price of rice has been fixed at Rs 40 per kg and paddy at Tk 27 per kg.
