Chuadanga District Food Department will procured 4691 metric tons of paddy and 8,776 metric tons of rice from Husking Mill Owners in the district up to date August 31 this year.
The procurement program has started in the district. About 848 metric tons of rice will be procured in Sadar upazila, 1562 metric tons of paddy in Alamdanga upazila, 1246 metric tons of paddy in Damurhuda upazila and 1035 metric tons of paddy in Jibannagar upazila. On the other hand the department will procure 1170 metric tons of rice from Sadar upazila, 1501 metric tons from Alamdanga upazila, 685 metric tons from Damurhuda upazila and 5420 metric tons from Jibannagar upazila.
It is learnt from AKM Shahidul Hoque, District Food Controller, paddy is being procured at Tk. 27 per Kg while rice is being bought Tk. 40 per kg.
