Pabna police start ‘muskup’ drive

Pabna District Police to prevent the increasing rate of Covid-19 infection, have started an awareness programme ‘Maskup Pabna’ in the town.

Police on Thursday distributed masks to spread awareness among locals of the town in front of Pabna Press Club. Pabna Police Super Mohammad Mohibul Islam Khan, Pabna Press Club PresidenT ABM Fazlur Rahman, General Secretary Saikat Afroz Asad, ASP Md Snigdho Akhtar, ASP Masul Alam, Pabma Reporters Unity President Habibur Rahman Swapan, General Secretary Kazi Mahbub Morshed Babla, Pabna Sadar OC  Amirul Islam along with other social activists were present at the programme. 

Pabna SP Mohibul Islam Khan during the human chain said that people should follow the hygiene rules advised by health department to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection. 

The infection rate in Pabna has increased rapidly in the past two weeks. Natore and Kushtia district administration already imposed a lockdown due to the high infection rate. As the infection rate is increasing, following hygiene rules and using 

masks can help to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infection. 

During the programme, Pabna police officials led by SP Mohibul Islam distributed masks amng pedestrians and passengers in the town. SP during mask distribution also advised people to maintain and follow hygiene regulations. 

Police will conduct drives jointly with Pabna district administration from Friday at major shopping malls, markets and other public places to prevent people from roaming without masks. District administration during the programme urged everyone for support.

It is to be mentioned that the current infection rate in the district is 13%. 88 out of 99 patients tested positive in the last 24 hours. 3,886 people in the city have been tested positive till now. Pabna district administration along with the health department is working to reduce the infection rate.
