‘Monpura’ famed director Gias Uddin Selim’s upcoming film titled ‘Paap Punno’ is all set to release simultaneously in 112 theatres in Bangladesh as well as North America on May 20. The news was confirmed by its international distributor of Swapno Scarecrow’s president Mohammad Oliullah Sajib.
By releasing the film ‘Paap Punno’ in 112 theatres, it will become the first Bangladeshi film that to be released in more than a hundred at the same time outside the country.
Regarding the context Sajib said, “The film is set to release simultaneously in eight theatres, eight cities of Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Nova Scotia and more than 100 cities in 25 US states. With this, 1 million audiences will be able to enjoy the film in that area. Technically, that’s the total market size of the audience of Bangladeshi movies in North America”.
“If 10 per cent of 1 million – 1 lakh – people watch the film in theatres, then the gross box office collection will cross $1 million from the international market. And if the film becomes a blockbuster hit, the number could go up to $2 million,” he further added.
North Americans will be able to enjoy ‘Paap Punno’ in their nearest theatres like AMC, Regal, Cinemark or Cineplex in 25 US states. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas, California, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, and Washington are among the states that will be releasing the film.
The film ‘Paap Punno’ is produced under Impress Telefilm. It was represented by Ibn Hassan Khan, Director of Sales and Marketing, and Saikat Salahuddin, Chief Executive of ' Swapno Scarecrow Bangladesh'. Siam Ahmed and Shahnaz Sumi will be seen opposite each other. Apart from them the film also features stars like Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Siam Ahmed, Farzana Chumki, Mamunur Rashid, Gausul Alam Shaon, and Fazlur Rahman Babu in vital roles.
