To provide high flow oxygen to each patient from the central system the health department installed two liquid oxygen tanks at corona dedicated Khanpur 300 Bed Hospital and Narayanganj General Hospital in Narayanganj.
A major problem at Khanpur hospital was It was to randomly supply oxygen to the COVID-19 patients and sometimes patient had to face scarcity of oxygen supply there. Previously oxygen was being provided by the portable cylinders and very often oxygen supply was short in hand then the demand at the hospital.
Some social and political organizations had given hundreds of oxygen cylinders to Khanpur hospital on information of the deficiency of oxygen cylinders. Then a mass demand of oxygen supply rose and it was necessary to install a central oxygen supply system at the corona dedicated Khanpur hospital. Responding to the demand the health department installed an oxygen tank in Khanpur hospital that has a quantity of 1400 tons of liquid oxygen.
Dr. Abul Bashar, Superintendent of Khanpur hospital told that now we have the capacity to treat 110
COVID-19 patients in the 300 bedded hospital. After installing this oxygen tank even if the bed number increases to 500 we would be able to provide treatment to them.
