Oxygen Bank has been set up in every police station under Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) to deal with the second phase of corona virus infection.

CMP has taken initiative to set up this exceptional bank to stand by the people suffering from oxygen crisis during the corona virus. Police officials think that many families will be relieved of the worries of oxygen cylinders in case of emergency.

CMP spokesperson Additional Deputy Commissioner Shah Mohammad Abdur Rauf said police were working in the field to make people aware of Corona. Oxygen banks have been set up in every police station to deal with corona since two days ago.

At present, Oxygen Bank has started its journey with three oxygen cylinders in 16 police stations of the city. More oxygen cylinders will be kept in the future as per demand. We have some deposits of oxygen cylinders in our Central Oxygen Bank.

He said many people are in home isolation due to corona. This reduces the supply of oxygen to the body of the infected person. For example, an infected person is dying due to lack of oxygen supply in time. Many suddenly need oxygen. It takes about a few hours to get to the hospital. At that time he will be able to collect oxygen from the police station and go to the hospital.

Anyone suffering from oxygen crisis will be able to get oxygen from any police station in the city completely free of cost in case of emergency. Once the oxygen is exhausted, the cylinder can be refilled as required by contacting the concerned police station.
