As many as 82,422 students were awarded with scholarships in the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examinations held in 2019. “Among them, 33,000 students got scholarships under talent pool while 49,500 under general category,” State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain told media while unveiling the list of the recipients at the Secretariat in Dhaka yesterday.
These students will receive a monthly stipend of Tk 300 and Tk 225 under talent pool and general category respectively for three years from class VI to VIII, he added. At the briefing, Zakir also unveiled the list of scholarship recipients in PEC equivalent Ebtedayee exams. List of scholarship recipients will be made available on the Directorate of Primary Education’s website (www.dpe.gov.bd).
The PEC and Ebtedayee examinations-2019 were held in last November with the participation of 26,03,638 examinees – 25,53,267 in PEC and 3,50,371 in Ebtedayee.
