Over 2 kgs of crystal meth ice recovered

BGB has recovered more than 2 kg of crystal meth ice in Cox's Bazar along Naf river border in Teknaf.

The operation was carried out in the area called Mirza Jora Canal of Naf River in Sadar Union of Teknaf Upazila at 8 pm on Monday, said Lt. Col. Md., commander of Teknaf 2 Battalion of BGB Mohiuddin Ahmed.

However, during the operation, no one could be arrested as the traffickers ran away, he said. Mohiuddin Ahmed said, on Monday night in Teknaf, BGB conducted an operation on the news of a large shipment of drugs being smuggled from Myanmar through the area called Mirza Canal of Naf River. 

At one point, the BGB members saw a person crossing the water line towards the Mirza Jora canal of the Naf river.

On reaching near the shore, the BGB members ordered to stop as the man's movement seemed suspicious.

"Meanwhile, leaving behind a small plastic bag with the smuggler, Keora fled through the garden in the dark. Later, when the smuggler left behind, the object was opened and found to be 2 kg 108 g of crystal meth ice. "

The recovered drugs have been stored in the battalion office of BGB said Lt. Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed.
