More than 2,000 landless and homeless families in Tangail are getting new houses with land from the Prime Minister under the Ashrayan Project -2 on the occasion of Mujib Year. Land and semipucca houses have already been handed over to some 1,700 poor families.
In addition, various facilitiesincluding roads, VGF cards facilities, tree plantation and trainingare waitingfor theextreme poorfamilies.
After the listing for the implementation of the Prime Minister’s declaration ‘not a single person of Bangladesh will be homeless in the Mujib Year’, the allocation process is now underway.
As part of this programme, at least 1,700 distressed families in Tangail have been able to live in semi-constructed houses on their own land. There is no limit to the joy of getting house and land among these families.
Md Mahbub Hossain, Director of Asrayan Project-2 under the Prime Minister’s Office inspected the project in Gorsa area of Ghatail upazila in Tangail on Wednesday afternoon.
During the visit, he said, “Houses have already been handed over to about 70,000 homeless families during the Mujib Year. The activities following Mujib Year have already achieved a remarkable response. The quality of the house is being inspected regularly.”
Tangail-3 MP Ataur Rahman Khan, Tangail Deputy Commissioner Dr Md Ataul Ganiand other officials of the district administration and public representatives were present on the occasion.
