Over 1 lakh Yaba pills seized in Cox’s Bazar

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) station Himchhari seized 1,40,000 pieces of yaba tablets from a suspicious small boat in Cox's Bazar's Ramu on Friday midnight, satated a press release published by BCG on Saturday.

The incident took place at Jhauban area of Rezukhal estuary under Ramu police station in Cox's Bazar. At that time, sensing the presence of Coast Guard men, the traffickers jumped out of the boat into the water and fled into the Jhauban. 

Later, searching the boat those yaba tablets were found and the boat along with the yaba tablets were seized. 

Seized yaba and the boat used for transporting yaba have been handed over to Ramu police station for further legal action. 

Bangladesh Coast Guard has adopted a zero tolerance policy and will continue to conduct regular operations in the areas covered by BCG to ensure law and order, public safety as well as to prevent piracy, robbery and drug trade.
