So far four patients by being attacked with coronavirus have been detected in Rajshahi district. Among those four patients, three returned from Narayanganj and one from Dhaka recently.  Moreover, after returning from outside, many suspected corona patients were moving to various hats, markets and houses of their relatives.

As a result, physicians and local people are worried about the spread of Coronavirus among other people of the district. Physicians said those who returned recently from Dhaka, Narayanganj or Gazipur, must stay at their homes and there was no alternative of this, otherwise, the virus would spread as a form of epidemic in the entire district soon.

To resist entrance and exit of people to and from Rajshahi district, District administration has put the district under lockdown from April-14. But, by defying the order, a large number of people from outside districts were entering to Rajshahi regularly.

Dr. Enamul Haque, Civil Surgeon of Rajshahi informed, 97 persons have been put under quarantine in the district during the last 24-hour. Among those, 46 persons arrived in Rajshahi from Dhaka and 15 from Narayanganj. Four of the Corona infected patients have been kept under home isolation.

Two of them belonged to Puthia and one each from Bagmara and Mohanpur Upazila. The condition of two patients is learned to be stable while two others were recovering.  Dr. Azizul Haque Azad,  Head of Corona Detection and Treatment team of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital informed, to keep Rajshahi Coronavirus free, the arrival of people from Dhaka and Narayanganj must be stopped.

Those who have already arrived from outside districts, should be identified and be kept under home quarantine for 14-day and samples of their blood and nasal swabs should be tested for the presence of Coronavirus in their bodies.

Dr. Azad further said many people arrived in Rajshahi from Narayanganj and Dhaka. He requested the people of the district to inform police or local administration about the returnees from Dhaka or Narayanganj or from other Corona infected areas of the country so that they could be taken under quarantine or isolation and samples of their blood and nasal swabs can be collected for testing the presence of Coronavirus in their bodies.
