Three orphan children joined a procession and the human chain with their mother demanding death sentence of the killers of their father Atiar (36) son of Iman Ali of village Dayarampur under Macchor union of Faridpur sadar upazila on Friday morning. The human chain programme was addressed, among others, by Linkon, nine year son of deceased Atiar, his brother Lutfor Sheikh, ASK Vice President Habibur Rahman, Masum Khan and Sohel Sheikh.
Mina Begum, wife of Atiar in an emotion choked voice said, the accused murderers are influential drug peddlers. Her husband had informed the names of those drug peddlers to police that is why they killed him by lynching after tying him with a tree. She demanded trial and exemplary punishment of the killers of her husband. She further said, she has no idea how to survive with her three orphan children.
It is learnt, on the night of December-11, 2019, two accused of the case Jilal Sarder and Alamgir called Atiar out from his house and took him to the house of another accused Mohammad Ali. There they tied Atiar with a tree and injured him fatally by beating him with sticks and lethal weapons. Later they informed police and sent him to Faridpur Medical College Hospital by terming him as a thief. Atiar died at the hospital around 4-30 am.
Lutfor Sheikh, brother of Atiar filed a murder case accusing 12-person in connection with the murder of Atiar. Police has arrested accused Jilal Sarder and Bokul Sarder in this connection but other accused are absconding.
