An orientation meeting for journalists about the Vitamin A Plus Caption was held on Wednesday in the meeting room of Nagar Bhaban of Gazipur City Corporation on the occasion of the upcoming National Vitamin A plus campaign which was scheduled to start next October.
The National Vitamin A plus Campaign contains the theme "Feed Vitamin A, Reduce the Risk of Infant Death." Based on the theme, vitamin A plus capsules will be administered to children from October 4 to 16.
A 6-11-month-old child will be given 1 ‘blue’ vitamin A capsule and a 12-59-month-old child will be given 1 ‘red’ vitamin capsule.
The meeting was chaired by the city corporation Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, Dr. Md. Rahmat Ullah in the meeting highlighted the importance of the use of vitamin A plus capsules.
City Corporation officer Namita Dey and Food and Sanitation Officer Malay Kumar Das, among others, were present on the occasion.
