Magistrate of Savar Upazila Administration ordered to a housing company to free ‘Bamni’ canal from their possession after visiting the canal area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday morning. Md Abdullah Al Mahfuz, Assistant commissioner (Land) and Executive magistrate of Savar Upazila, who passed the order, confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post on Sunday afternoon.
The official said, “A real estate company named ‘Alamnagar Housing Property’, partially grabbed a canal named ‘Bamni’ at Hemayetpur area, such information, we have visited the area and it was seen that, the authorities of the real estate grabbed a large part of the canal by filling sand. Later, we define the boundary of the canal after measures and warn them to free the part of the canal from their possession by removing sand within a limited time. “If they do not free the canal by this time, we will take legal action against them”, he added.
