Online cattle market launched in Munshiganj


In the current Corona situation, the district administration of Munshiganj, has taken initiative to reduce the crowds in the market so that people can buy and sell sacrificial animals from home.

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the district administration has launched an e-commerce website called “cattleofmunshiganj.com” for buying and selling animals in Munshiganj on the online platform. Considering the local context, all the facilities of the e-commerce site are available on this website.

The district administration is emphasizing on the importance to maintaining interests and safety of both the cattle farmers and the buyer in launching this online shopping platform. This initiative has been taken in collaboration with the livestock department of the district. 

From the union level, Live Stock Service Providers (LSPs) and Community Extension Agents for Livestock (CEAL) members are collecting information and photos of sacrificial animals from farms and farmers and uploading them to the respective website through the Union Digital Center. 

At the initiative and planning of Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman Talukder's the platform officially started the online sale of sacrificial animals from Thursday, July 23.
