Online ambulance service launched in Lakshmipur

An online ambulance service and apps called 'Swapna Jatra' have been launched in Lakshmipur to ensure rural health services. The event was officially inaugurated by Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain Akand on Monday evening at a local restaurant in Charbadam Union in the coastal area.

The ambulance was procured by a joint venture of the district administration, LGSP-3 and the local union council. Ramgati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdul Momen presided over the ceremony. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nur-e-Alam, Upazila Awami League President Abdul Wahed Murad, Municipality Mayor Mezbah Uddin Meju, Upazila Vice Chairman Rahat Hossain, Charbadam UP Chair­man Shakhawat Hossain Jasim and others were present in the inauguration ceremony. 

Deputy Commissioner Anwar Hossain Akand said the ambulance service would be available in the minimal fare to help the rural people. Rural health services will be ensured through the use of an ambulance almost worth Tk 2 million. 

The goal of building a nation of Father of the Nationa Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also be fulfilled. This activity will be started in 56 unions of the district in phases soon. The process of launching ambulances and apps in 12 unions will be completed within this year, the Deputy Commissioner said.
