A Dhaka court on Saturday sent a man to jail for assaulting journalist Mostafizur Rahman Sumon during recently held Dhaka city corporation polls. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Saeed sent Ismail to jail as police produced him before the court after end of his one day remand in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury on February 6 placed Ismail on one-day remand. Ismail was arrested on February 5 from Rayerbazar Intellectual Graveyard area.
Miscreants hacked Mostafizur Rahman Sumon, a journalist working with online news portal Agami News.com as he was covering the city corporation polls. Later he filed the case.
