Members of Sultanpur BOP camp under Chuadanga BGB Battalion-6 arrested one person with 10 pieces of gold bars (weight 1 kg 166 grams) worth about Tk 1,15,00,000 from near Indian border of village Nastipur in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday. The arrestee was identified as Al Mamun Mondal, son of Mojibor Rahman Mondal of village Jhajhadanga in Damurhuda upazila of the district.
According to Lt. Col. Sayeed Mohammad Jahidur Rahman, Director of BGB Battalion-6, on information a team of Sultanpur BOP camp's BGB rushed to the area, raided there, found a man, detained him and after searching recovered the gold bars from his possession.
A case was filed with Darshana Thana. The seized gold bars were deposited to the treasury office in Chuadanga.
