One killed while fighting over dumping of dung

A man named Tajmul Islam (40) was killed while trying to stop clashes between the two sides on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitar at Chirirbandar in Dinajpur. In this incident, Chirirbandar police have arrested 6 people involved in the murder. 

The incident took place in Durgapur (Dangapara) area of Amarpur union of the upazila on Saturday (May 15) on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitar at around 8am. The deceased was identified as Tajemul Islam, son of Afur Shah. According to eyewitnesses and police sources, a quarrel broke out between Azom Uddin (60), a resident of Durgapur area, and Moinul Islam (60), a neighbor, over dumping cow dung on Friday afternoon.

 According to sources, the two sides clashed on Saturday morning at a stage in Bagbitanda on the road. The mason Tajemul Islam (40), son of neighbor Afur Shah, died on the spot after being hit by a shovel in Moinul Islam's hand. Opponent Azom Uddin (60), his daughter Bulbuli Akhter (32) and grandson Sumon Islam (18) were injured in the incident. The injured are currently in Dinajpur is undergoing treatment at the M. Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital. 

Police arrested Moinul Islam (55), Shahajan Ali (30), Shahin Mia (25), Shahnaz Begum (45), Sirajul Islam (32) and Mamtaz Begum (24) from the spot. Chirirbandar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Subrata Kumar Sarkar confirmed the incident and said that the deceased's wife Umme Kulsum, 32, had filed a murder case. In the case, 10 named and 2/3 unknown persons have been accused.
