A man was killed as a rod-laden speeding truck rammed a parked covered van from behind in front of Banani Army Stadium around 4.30 am Friday.
The victim MdShajahan, 36, was driving the truck and got seriously injured in the accident. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him dead around 6am.

"The truck was going to Hajaribagh area, carrying the rods from Tongi. Police rushed to the scene right after the accident and took the seriously-injured truck driver to the hospital. The covered van driver, however, managed to escape the scene," Sub-Inspector (SI) MdIjaj Miah of Banani Police Station told BSS.
Police said the body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy and filing of case is underway.
